Our Process

We meet with key stakeholders and line managers to gather important information about your company, team and culture, to help us establish the basis for the position brief and ideal candidate suitability.

We obtain specific information on the vacant role from your hiring manager, from key responsibilities, skills required and expectations, through to hours of work, basis of employment and team culture.
We employ a range of methods to source the best talent for your organisation. From our extensive candidate database, professional networking sites and our successful candidate referral program through to comprehensive industry networks, direct marketing and advertising through job boards and other industry forums, we have access to a deep and high quality talent pool.

Once we build a pipeline of talented candidates for your role, we proceed to assessing them based on their skill-set, suitability for the role, career orientation, culture fit and a number of other important factors.

Based on the position brief, screened candidates then undergo any required skills testing (in data entry, the Microsoft Office suite or ERP programs, for example) as well as role-based behavioural testing. These are all conducted at the Big Fish Group Assessment Centre.
The next stage is to interview candidates. Big Fish conducts in-depth interviews to assess talented applicants through a combination of personality, behavioural and role-specific questions to assess their potential and suitability for your role.
From there, Big Fish shortlists the best candidates for the role and presents them to you, together with a Big Fish formatted CV, all testing results, consultant notes highlighting suitability in addition to a reference check.
You then have an opportunity to meet with shortlisted candidates. This allows your key stakeholders to interview your preferred candidates in order to gauge their suitability for the role and fit for your organisation. If required, candidates can participate in subsequent interview rounds to help ensure the right candidate is hired.
This is the final step in the selection process. This ensures the candidate has no “hidden baggage” and has a clear criminal history which may breach company employment guidelines or impede their ability to fulfill the role and its responsibilities.
Based on your final decision, Big Fish finalises the recruitment process by presenting your chosen candidate with an offer of acceptance and contract to finalise the process.
